Read MoreCozy at home on a blustery fall day... A new 4 week old babe and an enthusiastic big sister... Two enamored parents loving on their little treasures... An afternoon with Scott and Nemecia and new sisters, Mila and Tessa. Enjoy! XO
With this active family, we went tromping through the fields and wetlands exploring. The boys ran and jumped. Mom and Dad followed behind the unceasing energy and movement exuding from their sons, as always. And all the while, the red autumn sun bathed us as it sunk behind the hills. Enjoy this look into a family's evening adventure!
I recently took a photography class through the Define School called Movement and Light. It was so good, and I can say that I certainly grew as a photographer. I began the class with a generally nervous attitude about shooting in low light, especially indoors, and harsh, midday light. However, I pushed myself to shoot in this light over the past few weeks. I loved it and can sincerely say that I no longer find these lights scary. I want to embrace the shadows and find pockets of light. I will celebrate bright, sunny days and not worry so much about raccoon eyes. I am looking forward to this journey! So, here is a little tidbit of images I took and submitted. Enjoy! XO
What an amazing shoot this was! It was lovely to see a family enjoy time together just doing what they do… fixing hair, reading books, wrestling, watering their plants, playing on the swing set, looking for bugs, and enjoying an evening walk. We had lots of laughs, especially when ants invaded their space and made everyone do the boogie! A couple tips for family clients from this shoot---> clothing matters when you are being photographed! Be yourself and let your creativity come through. Take the time to coordinate, but don't be overly matchy matchy. Mom, go buy a shirt you love that you will enjoy looking at yourself in! Also, choose an activity. It doesn't have to be complicated: blow bubbles, have a watermelon picnic, eat ice cream. Be conscious of the environment: choose locations that you will like to look at for years to come. And above all, embrace the activity and chaos of children and HAVE FUN!!
Enjoy!! XOXO
In the midst of a larger family shoot (see post to follow for DOUBLE cuteness), I was privileged to take a walk with one of the sweetest families I know- Pierce and Bonnie with their new addition, Conrad. LOVE!
After previously posting a couple photos, I am finally getting around to posting the full series-- little Jeisa. She was about 10 weeks old when I had the privilege of capturing her personality and small, sweet body. Enjoy!
I freaking love these people: Luke and Karen and their two young girls. They are genuine, refreshing, realistic, and gracious. And, it is just an additional bonus that every time I am with my red-headed friend, people ask us if we are sisters. Because if you have the same hair color, you MUST be sisters. We have even gotten, "Are you twins?" Silly, but I love it, and I will take it. I would be honored to be your sister Karen.
Pleased to introduce this family… and this is a Saturday morning with them.
